What is Geoxphere?
Geoxphere is a company registered in the UK that provides enterprise-level cloud-based SaaS products with a focus on geospatial data and tools.
What is the difference between XMAP and Parish Online?
XMAP and Parish Online are two brands of the same cloud GIS software. We call the software XMAP, but it’s branded XMAP for all middle and central government customers as well as our business customers. Parish Online serves the town, parish and community council sector. It’s essentially the same software but fine-tuned to suit different markets.
Can Parish Online and XMAP share data with each other?
Yes, as both services use the same software ecosystem, data can be shared across accounts. The most common use of this is where a Local Authority shares their GIS data through XMAP so it’s visible within all Parish Online accounts within their territory.
How long has Geoxphere been operating?
Geoxphere Ltd has been our legal company since 2018. Before that, we were Geoxphere LLP (starting in 2016), and before that we were a department within Getmapping PLC (since 2007).
Is Geoxphere Cyber Essentials certified?

Where is data stored?
All corporate and customer data is stored on UK-based servers. We primarily use AWS.
Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes, we adhere to our GDPR Personal Information Policy.
What Ordnance Survey data do you provide?
As an Ordnance Survey partner, we hold their latest NGD datasets and BaseMap Pro, as well as outgoing datasets such as MasterMap, AddressBase and other raster cartographic datasets. We provide this data to our customers under the PSGA agreement or commercial data licences.
What support do you offer?
We pride ourselves on the level of responsiveness and quality of our support. It’s always included for free with any of our services. We also have enhanced support packages to take advantage of our GIS strategy capabilities.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes, most services have free trial periods. Use our support contacts to enquire about specific services.
What contract lengths do you offer?
Our most common contract is a 1 year rolling subscription. We don’t like lock-in, so this gives our customers flexibility in their procurement. However, we are happy to engage in much longer terms, typically up to 5 years.
How many councils use Geoxphere services?
We have over 15 Local Authorities using XMAP as their corporate GIS system, and over 2,500 town and parish councils using Parish Online Mapping. And, we have many other customers of our business versions of XMAP and bespoke products we’ve created.
